Support for PC Developers

Across the Boards offers four separate products to meet the needs of PC Software Developers: ATB/Win32, ATB/Windows, ATB/DOS, and ATB/OS/2. These products offer the same communications facilities in each of the PC operating environments. All four products interface with the full range of Across the Boards mainframe components in CICS/VSE, CICS/MVS, TSO, APPC/MVS, VTAM, Batch, TCP/IP and CMS.

Across the Boards/Win32
Across the Boards supports all Win32 environments, including Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. Transparently supporting almost every Win32 communication link to the mainframe available, from 3270 coax cards and 3270 emulators, to direct TCP/IP and LU6.2 connections, ATB/Win32 provides a single development environment for applications that need to access mainframe data. ATB/Win32 is fully thread safe, and is equally adept at supporting a single host session for a single user application, or hundreds of simultaneous host sessions for server applications (for example, web servers that need to access mainframe data).

By providing a highly compatible API, ATB/Win32 makes porting existing Across the Boards applications to ATB/Win32 almost painless. In addition, most new ATB/Win32 features can be accessed transparently by ATB/Win16 applications, including support for host initiated sessions and encryption.

Across the Boards/Windows (ATB/Win16)
ATB/Win16 provides support for 16 bit Windows applications. In addition to providing access to all devices supported by ATB/Win32, ATB/Win16 supports almost all 16 bit communications links, plus many of the emulators supported by ATB/DOS. By implementing the common Across the Boards APIs, ATB/Win16 provides for easy migration from ATB/DOS applications, and to ATB/Win32 applications. Plus by supporting transparent access to most ATB/Win32 facilities, ATB/Win16 applications continue to be fully functional on 32 bit Windows platforms.

Across the Boards/DOS
From the beginning, Across the Boards has provided support for versions 3.1 and above of the MS-DOS and PC-DOS operating systems. Many real mode 3270 emulators are supported, in addition to ASCII dialup and 3270 coax cards. This version of ATB is still available, and fully supported, with all updates and enhancements that have been added over the years, and is perfect for small embedded systems that need mainframe access.

Across the Boards/OS/2
ATB for OS/2 supports most 3270 terminal emulators as well as 3270 coax cards and ASCII dialup. ATB/OS/2 implements the same APIs as all ATB products and supports important OS/2 features such as threads and HPFS.
